Working Groups
PRCA has three working groups designed to give students real industry experience: The Community Cultivation Project, Local Entertainment Promotions Team (LEPT) and Beyond the Classroom. Each group is student-led and offers unique opportunities to get involved with the community and develop skills such as copywriting, graphic design, web design, photography, videography and more.
The Community Cultivation Project
High Socks for Hope
High Socks for Hope is a 5013c non-profit started by MLB relief pitcher David Robertson and his wife Erin. On the local level, High Socks for Hope strives to provide furniture donations and delivery services to help families in need. In the fall semester, the team works to create High Socks for Hope’s Tinsel Trail campaign which includes decorating a tree, drafting up messaging, and designing deliverables. Aside from this campaign the team works on a variety of projects throughout the semester, creating digital signage, display graphics, and newsletters.

Good Samaritan/Alabama Area Agency on Aging
The Good Samaritan Clinic is a Christian ministry that provides primary health care to uninsured and underinsured people of all ages, races and genders. They hope to reach the many people who "fall through the crack" of healthcare services. The Alabama Area Agency on Aging assesses the needs of older persons in West Alabama, distributes funds for the provision of services to older adults, helps agencies and local governments plan services for older persons, and provides information about available resources to older adults and their caregivers. This team works for both clients and creates campaigns aimed at raising awareness of each within the Tuscaloosa community.

Local Entertainment Promotions Team (LEPT)
The Local Entertainment Promotions Team (LEPT) works to promote local bands and DJs in the Tuscaloosa area. LEPT typically works with five bands a semester. Members of LEPT get to master a range of skills necessary for working in the music industry including booking, photography, videography, editing, graphic design and copywriting. During the fall and spring semesters LEPT works with local bands to put on a charitable concert. On top of this, the team helps bands manage their social media, solidify branding, take concert photography, create graphics, and more.
